Made from stainless steel, these screws have good chemical resistance and may be mildly magnetic. They have a split lock washer that flattens as the screw is tightened to add tension and prevent loosening from small amounts of vibration. Also known as Sems screws, the washer rotates freely but is permanently attached. They're passivated for added protection against oxidation and corrosion. Length is measured from under the head.
